Don has performed for 3 U.S. Presidents, numerous international headliners, and many national music festivals, however, nothing is more rewarding than having a new student, regardless of age, entering into the adventure of performing music. Being a great grandfather, he has experience with and welcomes students of all ages and abilities.
Instruments taught: Guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and mandolin. Don is also qualified to teach songwriting and composition.
Don’s guitar experience is a result of studying with Tony Vogel and Rich Johnson. Don is a Fender Guitar Company certified instructor, and teaches reading music notation and guitar tablature.
Don is in the Who’s Who in West Coast Jazz, Past President and Board of Directors of the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Society, Founder of award winning Bix Youth Band, Board member of Santa Rosa T.R.A.D. Jazz Society, Board of Directors of Piano for a Richer Life, and the International Trombone Association. Don’s rates are $70 per month for four lessons..
Stacey has taught private guitar lessons for 12 years. She began teaching guitar at First Steps In Music in San Diego, California and now teaches in the Quad Cities. Stacey has nine years of teaching experience at public and private schools which include St. Agnes in St. Paul, MN and Assumption High School in Davenport. Stacey looks forward to introducing more students to the guitar and helping them to learn about music.
Jamey plays guitar and sings in the local group "Parish Festival". The group's last album "Handshakes and Heartaches" was recorded at Future Appletree Studios in Rock Island, IL.
Billy has been playing since he was 10 years old (27+ years) and has enjoyed teaching for the past ten years. He has played in many local bands including Keep A Lie, Axen Province, Alone, Transmission 13 and Katalina. As a kid, his family and friends encouraged him a lot in his learning and his biggest inspiration was always the joy of hitting the stage with his band and putting on the best performance possible.
My goal is to provide the highest education to my students while making the experience of learning to play guitar an exciting and enjoyable one. Lessons available for beginners or seasoned professionals looking to build their knowledge base.
Alan Morrison, owner of AM Guitar Works has been playing, repairing, customizing, and building guitars for over 30 years. “I started doing this type of work in the 80's, working full time at a music store, where I gained a lot of experience with guitar and amplifier repair. Since then I have continued to build and customize guitars and service amplifiers for myself and others as well.”
Mark has an Associate of Arts Degree from Black Hawk College, Moline, IL with a primary focus on music. During the first five years of his upper level study, Mark was a music education major at St. Ambrose College. Additional studies include sessions with English guitarist Robert Fripp and a master class with Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar (mentor to George Harrison). Mark is considered to be one of the top teachers in the Midwest conducting private lessons – a veteran of guitar, bass, mandolin, and music theory since 1984 with added experience from playing in local bands and touring the Midwest.
Mark is a graduate of the Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T.) in Hollywood, California. He has been playing guitar since 1982 and had been teaching guitar since 1992. Mark can be seen playing in three local bands: Hip Trip, and 3 Stories High in the Muscatine area and Sky Pilot in the Cedar Rapids area.
Terry teaches from his home studio. He has a large compliment of students and enjoys watching each one of them as they grow at their own pace. About two years ago, Terry joined up with a singer/guitarist named Rich Ford. Together they play acoustic music from the 60s and 70s.
